About BulCraft
BulCraft Pro Ltd. was founded in 2007. The main activities are design and construction of systems for home and building automation. BulCraft Pro builds objects with home automation systems, including building systems in hotels, shopping and business centers, company offices, hospitals and schools.
Thanks to successful projects, the company has gained a leading position in the Bulgarian market.
Aim definition
BulCraft is engaged in not public projects for a specific customer. The company is working on a large complex on the Black Sea coast. This complex consists of 150 houses, a few restaurants, and reception, which include monitoring and control based on Bulcraft’s installation.
There are a lot of proposals on the Smart Home market, a lot of manufacturers produce devices, but always there is something that is missing. Optional: example what is missing.
BulCraft was searching for a way to create devices exactly fitting customer needs. It should have been a non-expensive, flexible, and easy to use solution.
Solution
Initially BulCraft tried to design specific devices using KNX modules. But the total cost of the project became a way more expensive than the customer was ready to invest.
Then BulCraft found the Z-Uno Z-Wave rapid development module. They found it sufficiently flexible and the price was good. Collateral expenses turned out to be not high at all, for Z-Uno programming requires as many skills as Arduino. Hence, any hardware engineering student can make a sketch for it within a week. While developing Z-Uno showed itself even as a more flexible tool than existing KNX solutions.
The conclusion was that Z-uno was a perfect tool in creating a quick solution. Fast support from the technical department of Z-Wave.Me company made a project even more quick.
Up to 80 modules were used and BulCraft will need more on the next stages.
Benefits
BulCraft was able to win the big project, fitting all the client’s needs at an acceptable cost.
The project deadlines are being met, because of:
- The Arduino-ish Z-Uno concept is very clear, and it is very well described for users.
- It is very convenient that the process is based on Arduino.
- The learning process is fine, as everything is clearly described.
- The starting process is easy.
- The support works perfectly.
