Z-Way licensing models
Z-Way comes with different licensing models:
- If you use Z-Way on top of the RaZberry Shield the complete functionality is available free of charge without any limitations. You are allowed to change and adapt the UI and resell products based on the combination of RaZberry and Z-Way. No additional cost. Please check how to download Z-Way for Raspberry Pi.
- If you want to use Z-Way on a platform different from Raspberry Pi without support for Z-Wave you can download the code free of charge. You are allowed to change and adapt the UI and resell products based on Z-Way as long as you keep references to the Z-Wave.Me authorship. No additional cost, but please keep in mind that the core Z-Wave function will not work in this case.
- If you want to use Z-Way on a platform different from Raspberry Pi with support for Z-Wave you can download the code free of charge but you will need a Z-Wave.Me transceiver hardware such as UZB and you will need a licensing key to unlock the Z-Wave function. You can purchase the licensing code from here or from our partners and some of them may already bundle the UZB with such a license. You are allowed to change and adapt the UI and resell products based on Z-Way and UZB. No additional cost.
- If you want to run the Z-Wave controller function of Z-Way on your own hardware (either third party UZB stick or Z-Wave chip soldered on the controllers mainboard) you can purchase a flat Z-Way license with or without source code access. "Flat" means here that with such a license you can use Z-Way on an unlimited amount of your own hardware devices. Please check "Z-Way on my platform" first and then contact us for negotiating a licensing agreement.
