Z-Wave is the international standard for wireless communication between different devices in homes and offices. Z-Wave is the first wireless standard that both specified all aspects of communication and is adopted by various vendors. This and only this really allows to use different products from different vendors together and prevent to be locked in by one vendors proprietary solution.
Z-Wave products deliver the value of smart lighting, improved safety and security, heating and climate control and last but not least energy saving at an affordable price with a great and fast increasing selection of products. It forms the by far biggest ecosystem in the area of home automation and smart home all over the world. Visit the home page of the Z-Wave Alliance for more information about the industry group and the brands behind Z-Wave.
Z-Wave is a so-called “sub-G” technology utilising the 868/908/921 MHz ISM/SRD frequency band. It provides meshing which mean that Z-Wave devices can route messages of other devices in case of failure. This ensures a very stable wireless network even under real conditions in real homes.
