Z-Wave.Me controllers based on Z-Way are smart home gateways and hence are collecting and processing your private data to improve your life. When configuring your smart home gateway you provide private information such as e-mails, device names, device locations, authentication tokens. By using Z-Way software you agree to the following privacy policy.
What information do we collect?
Z-Way software is storing all the information you entered in a local file storage. No data is sent to our or third parties servers without your knowledge. When configuring cloud services or submitting support/feedback forms you provide us the data filled in.
What do we use your information for?
The information you have submitted us is used to solely in one of the following ways:
- To provide you the best support
- To provide you the cloud service requested
- To improve the Z-Way software and Z-Wave.Me controllers
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information submitted to us. The personal information we collect is stored until you instruct us to modify or remove your private data from our servers. To do so use the cloud service cockpit or send us an e-mail.
Are cookies used?
Yes, cookies are required for the Z-Way user interface to operate.
Z-Wave.Me cloud services
By enabling our cloud services you allow us to store the data required to provide you that service. All the transport between Z-Way and our servers as well as between the mobile app and our servers is encrypted with strong SSL/TLS encryption or with secure SSH tunnels.
Cloud backup service stores your backup files containing your devices information and authentication tokens to allow future restore of your system in case of hardware damage or unwanted modification of your local smart home controller configuration by you.
Remote access service (find.z-wave.me) is used to access your smart home from any location. This service is only storing authentication tokens during their lifetime. No personal data is stored on servers.
E-Mail and push notifications services are storing your e-mail and authentication token to link your smart home gateway to your mobile phones for alarm notifications. No personal information is stored on servers.
Third party cloud services
When configuring integration with third party services such as voice assistants or various cloud services you agree to share with this third party your devices data.
If not stated explicitly in the configuration form, access to all devices data is granted.
Configuring control access to your devices you are always asked to explicitly grant access to each device. The list of granted devices can be edited at any time. You can at any time fully revoked access of a third party to your devices by removing the appropriate authentication token or user profile. To do so visit the user profile page in the Z-Way smart home gateway.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include our trusted contractors who are tied with us with a direct non disclosure agreement. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the local government law or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
